About the Instructor

Mariya Lincoln has been teaching piano for five years. She recently decided to focus on instruction for students ages 3-10. Because of this specialization, she is able to focus her efforts and develop lessons using materials and activities specific to younger piano learners.

She grew up in Oregon, earning a BA with honors in music performance from Southern Oregon University, receiving music scholarships all four years. She spent a year as an assistant teacher in a Montessori school before opening her studio. She also spent a year in Chile and a year in China and speaks Spanish.

She is an active member of the Eastside chapter of the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA), the American Federation of Musicians (AFM), and the Seattle Flute Society. She is Orff level 1 certified. When she is not teaching music, she performs with her trio ATriem Ensemble at corporate and private events, and enjoys performing music of different styles with various ensembles.

Besides piano, she plays flute, piccolo, saxophone and clarinet. She is a member of the Redmond Baha’i community and is married to artist Kamal Siegel. Other than music, interests include running, swimming, anything outdoors, reading and seeing new places.
